About Me
I'm
a 21-year-old college student majoring in Ag Journalism at South
Dakota State University. I've created this web page for my Computer
Assisted Information Gathering class. I was an exchange student at
Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester, England, in January to
March of 2001. After that, I backpacked alone through Europe for
the next two months.
This is a photo of me (on the left) and my best friend, Rosie, from England. We're clubbing at Bed.
Clubbing all over Europe was my favorite hobby while I was there.
The club scene is amazing. Being from the middle of nowhere, club
culture was a whole new experience that I loved. My favorite club
was Insomniacz, which ran from
4 a.m. Sunday morning until noon. I went to a rave in a cave in Barcelona,
clubbing at the Rex Club in Paris (where Daft Punk was rumored to be),
a super-club in Brussels called Le Fuse, a massive rave called Shockers
in the largest building I've ever been in in Amsterdam, to a Russian bar
in Dresden, Radost FX in Prague and to a gay night at a club called Aliens
in Rome. It was an amazing time and it was great to experience the
real nightlife of locals, instead of tourists.
This photo is of my friends Steve, Michael, Liam, Cass and Rosie after a clubbing marathon. This was taken in Sheffield Sunday night after going to "Sunday Mass."
Step outside the tourist attractions and become a traveler, not a tourist.
My next trip will be over spring break to Bolivia for one of my classes. In the Spring of 2002, my boyfriend and I will be exchange students in Jonkoping, Sweden.
I've been creating websites since I was in high school. I also write for and am the web editor for SDSU's newspaper, the Collegian.
My resume is available here.
